Dr. David Lee

Dr. David Lee is the first person in the State of Texas to be certified for EUS-guided portal pressure gradient (EUS-PPG) measurement for liver disease. He has a passion for providing his patients with advanced endoscopic care and a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary plan for treating their GI disorders.


Dr. Lee’s GI Health Credentials

Dr. Lee received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, and a Master of Public Health degree from Yale University School of Public Health. He is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology.


He completed residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He followed this with a general gastroenterology fellowship and advanced endoscopy fellowship at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. 


Dr. David Lee specializes in both general gastroenterology and advanced, minimally-invasive therapies of the GI tract, including:


  • Endoscopic Full Thickness Resection (EFTR)
  • Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)
  • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD)
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
  • Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy for Achalasia (POEM)
  • Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy for Zenker’s Diverticulum (Z-POEM)


He has special interest in treating GERD, Barrett’s esophagus, and early esophageal cancers, and extensive training in endoscopic therapies for GERD. 


Dr. Neema M. Saraiya

Dr. Neema M. Saraiya treats a diverse population of patients for a variety of conditions, including general GI care, inflammatory bowel disease, and general hepatology. 


To ensure efficient and effective care at Modera GI, she oversees a group of nurse practitioners. She also participates in a surgery center leadership council to improve patient care outcomes and schedule optimization.


Dr. Saraiya’s GI Health Credentials

Dr. Saraiya is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She received her medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. 


Then, she completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a fellowship in gastroenterology & hepatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. During her fellowship, Dr. Saraiya participated in a rigorous training program with a high volume of consults. 


This provided abundant opportunities to hone her endoscopy skills and perform inpatient GI and hepatology services. Moreover, she served in a large multispecialty group of over 300 physicians at Austin Regional Clinic, an experience that has equipped her well for providing gastroenterology care for her patients at Modera GI.
